Sculptural glass Barolak

The factory was founded in 1877. The plant specialized in the production of pressed glass, gas lamps, inkwells, bottles, and a wide range of handcrafted glassware. However, due to poor management and construction mistakes, the factory went bankrupt, and in 1893, it was purchased by entrepreneur Josef Inwald from Vienna, who took over the glass factory with its numerous debts. J. Inwald completely redesigned the factory, built new buildings and workshops, and the business began to thrive. One of the most significant innovations was the start of production of colored and opalescent glass! The factory invited the renowned glass designer and modeler Rudolf Schrotter to work with them. They opened trade offices throughout Europe, England, and America, and orders poured in from all over the world. In the 1920s, the factory began a close collaboration with the English trading firm "Jenkins and Sons." Unique and original glassware designs for England were developed under the general name "BAROLAC."
